What is Airsoft Airsoft is a sport that relies on honesty and teamwork in a way no other can capture but can worry people that are uninformed. The idea is similar to paintball but a whole lot more fun. Airsoft is played in woodlands and buildings around the country. At it's most basic there are 2 teams with opposing objectives like capturing the other sides flag and taking it back to their base. To stop the other team you have an Airsoft BB gun to shoot the other team members with. When shot the person raises their hand and is out of that game. The most interesting thing about airsoft for most people are the Airsoft BB guns. Rather than the odd looking Markers that people use in paint ball, they tend to be exact replicas of real guns! This is because they fire 6mm bbs (plastic/crushed rock ball bearing) instead of the huge paint balls. So the mechanism, barrel and hopper is small enough to fit inside a replica. Another bonus is that because the BBS are smaller they need less energy to push them, so much so that they are classed as toys under UK law. This means unlike paintball you can use them on Fully Automatic! Plus because of the lower force and smaller size they hurt a lot less than paintball.
An Airsoft MP5A5 AEG and M92F EBB Now here is where the honesty bit comes in, BBS don't contain any paint like paintballs so don't mark people when hit. The means that when your hit you have to be honest enough to put your hand up and tell people your hit.... Integrity is a great part of Airsoft.
